I'm thinking about turning a 3 x 3' (5 inches deep) grow tray into a DWC system which will save ALOT of water and nutrients as opposed to a 45 gallon tote filled with at least 32 gallons of water. I'm planning to do a SOG grow with roughly 4 plants per square foot flowered at 6-8 inches, and cutting off the lower 1/3rd of the plant's vegetation during week 2 of flowering, so in the end I will have just a bunch of nice top colas. Has anyone done this before? And would you guys recommend it? My main concern is if there will be adequate space for my roots, and also if there will be enough nutrient solution to sustain all of the plants. Any feedback guys?
