i was looking for lights for my new Rubbermaid setup and i came across this

Philips 34 Watt Marathon™ Triple Tube Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Equivalent to 120 watt incandescents, these bulbs are great for use everyday in table lamps or floor lamps! Lamps last up to 5 years and save you up to $60 in energy cost per bulb.
  • Provides soft, white light
  • Super long life - 7,000 hour average rated life
  • Medium base
  • 2700K
  • Blistercarded
  • 6 Per case
  • Ideal for table lamps, floor lamps and other open indoor fixtures

i was wondering how many of these i would need for lets say 4 plants
i was thinking around 6 setup like this

plant-2cfl's on a Y-plant-2cfl's on a Y-plant-2cfl's on a Y-plant

and a floro tube running across 1 side and soon another one on the other side
help is appreciated

depends. u wont wanna put em all on Y splitters. u will want some surrounding the lower part of the plant as well. the more the better. id say 3 or 4 each per plant. so however many boxes that is..

The large hanging hoods have 3 Y splitters in them for 4 23w CFL's under each hood. You can clearly see the difference between the two halves of the grow in color temperature for veg/flowering, and when everything is flowering you can combine the two sets of lights no problem.
