36 days vegging... is this normal?

Should plants be showing signs of their sex before entering the flowering stage? I've seen one male show its sacs at 40 days (from seed) and 2 females at 36 days from seed. All were on the 18/6 schedule with no light getting at them during the dark periods.

Would these be considered auto flowering or could it be something else? Once they hit the 18 inch mark in a few days should I induce flowering or are they already flowering?

Once plants hit a certain maturity they can show their sex without ever going into 12/12 lighting. This maturity is reached when the nodes begin alternating. Usually around 1-2 months.

I've had clones show their sex after about 3 weeks on 20/4. Its probably a good trait though. Maybe it means it will bloom faster?

Very true, and different strains will do differently. And you want them at that 'maturity' of alternating branches/nodes before going 12/12.

Great Luck to you and have fun:weed:

all it means is that your plants are ready for 12/12. You can keep vegging as long as you want though. the longer the veg the more sites for buds.
