It would be kind of a waste I would think, the THC saturation point of the fat in 1 pound of butter is lower than what 4.5 ounces of kief could provide.

yup.. it would be very potent.. but you could do a second wash on the material . maybe even a third.. honestly we tried this last time.. adding 2 ozs of kief to 4 sticks of butter.. and we ran another run with 4 sticks.. in the same material. .and it too was potent .. sleepier.. but potent.
