4 feet to small?

Hey i'm building a grow box out of a cabinet and was wondering do you think 4 feet is to small? with lights and what not i would think the plants to grow to be 3.25-3.5ft

depends what kind of light you are using....most HPS lights ive seen are about 16" tall plus they should be like 10-18" away from the tops of the plants...thats 2-2.5 feet right there so ur plants could only be 1.5ft tall.....

I'm still looking into buying the HPS lights.
I just bought tonight a 6x light T8 fluorescent high bay fixture to start growing them. I was going to switch to a HPS to veg
This is my first grow so any advise would be nice

how do these lights compare to HPS. I've seen some post about T5 lights, are T8 32w lights better? i'm really new at all this lol
