400 cfm fan with 420 cfm can filer

Hey everyone, i finally went out and got mostly everything for my set up. I was told by the guy at the store that it will be ok to use a 400cfm rated fan with a 420 cfm rated carbon filter. Was he correct on this? I will be growing in a 4x4x6.5 secret jarden tent with a air cooled 6 inch reflective hood.

I can return things if need be but i decided to listen to the guy working at the store

Your fan is 400 your filter is 420. Yes it will work. The only way it wouldn't is if the cfm of the filter is lower then the fan.

example- 400cfm fan, 300cfm filter. That will not work. I mean it will, but it won't filter odor out.. Some will escape because more air is being pulled through the filter, then it can filter out. Hopefully I explained it good enough
