i just got a 400w metal halide light and i was wondering how far away from my plant it should be my plant has been budding under my fluorescent setup for a wile now let me know.

put your hand palm down just over your plant
raise or lower your light until it feels comfortably warm on the back of your hand
right there

MH lights should be used for vegging plants i would suggest leaving your flores on plants an add the MH i like to add 1 MH in between 2 HPS lights when flowering
