4th week going on 5th

Glad to see the magical weed gnomes came and sprinkled my garden with a lot of sugar this last week, so I decided to buy an active eye 100x microscope to keep an eye on things. To get a more clear idea of what I should look for I went to go test some stuff from the shop but couldn't really differentiate between clear or cloudy or amber... I had two samples to look at, one sativa and one indica.... They both looked like the same thing, little crystals that were too blurry to distinguish....

This is the scope i am using http://www.hydrofarm.com/product.php?itemid=11025

What scope would you guys recommend.... I was thinking about returning the one I have for one that connects via usb to the computer so I can view the pictures without so much eye strain...

Also I am starting to see only a few of the hairs turn orange/brown while the others remain white..... is this a good?

I use a $10 scope from RadioShack. It's a hassle to keep in focus while looking (takes a steady hand) but I'm still able to distinguish trich color.
As far as the colors of the hairs, I wouldn't worry about that at all. I found it differs from strain to strain and isn't a consistant or reliable way to determain ripeness. So basically, yes it is 100% normal to have multicolored hairs.

They make a cheap LCD microscope. I think it was 50 or 60 bucks on eBay. There were a few advantages and disadvantages with it. The thing I liked was you could get some good magnification. You could save the pictures to your computer to do a side by side comparison to see any changes. The disadvantage was that you had to cut a small sample from the plant.
the pocket can be a pain to focus.
