depends on the size of your batch. If I remember correctly an ounce of herb does 1lb of butter.

You can add just about any proportion of weed to butter so long as it's completely submerged and soupy like while it cooks. By soupy like I mean weed floating/cooking in water and butter. You never want the weed to absorb all the liquids. If that happened then you didn't use enough butter and water. The more you do it the better of an eye you have at cooking.

P.S. get the fattiest butter you can get. The fatter the better the extraction. Cook in a crock pot for 12-24 hours till the weed looks spent (almost cashed like).
