A friend of mine stated that a grower friend of his paid $500 for one Bruce Banner seed. To say the least, I'm skeptical. Anyone here ever heard of any seeds that could possibly fetch such a premium price? My thinking is either my friend misheard, my friend's friend tells whoppers, or my friend's friend got epically hoodwinked. Yikes.

Some folk will pay crazy amounts for limited drops or the last packs of some stuff but it is ridiculous nothings worth that much imo
Alien genetics years ago last packs then went for thousands per pack for example im sure there is lots of other examples some folk got more money than sense

No, sir. The time of heirloom seeds is coming. Legalization will bring stabilization and consistency with cheap seed packs while nearly all commercial weed is grown in ideal climates.
There will be niche, sure. But all the folks who drink Bud Light will be smoking heirloom cookies and headband grown in NorCal.
Agree to disagree bro ive had great results from cheap packs and expensive ones honestly price and quality does not correlate this industry aint standardised or policed very well you can find a belter in a 2$ seed you could pop 50 at 200$ a pop still find nothing on the same level some of the best plants ive seen came from cheap stuff as for cuts cuts should be free or close to it its a bloody twig come on man way we always worked it was you give someone cuts they sqaure you up with a oz at the end of there run tis the best way spread the love dont hoard it thats how things die and get lost imo

Agreed.
I am all for supporting the people doing the work breeding or providing cuts (within reason) but if I have something good, I feel responsible for spreading the love. I can only pop so many beans and grow so many plants in this life. No fucking way we are overgrowing the government at $10 per bean.

Wow 500 bucks! That's more than my entire crop growing budget for 3 years equipment included.
I've smoked weed off and on since the 60's. The stuff we're growing now is so potent in no time you build up a tolerance, that is the real issue.
After not smoking for several years we tried a pre-roll in Colorado. 3 small tokes and I was so wasted it was all I could do to drive a couple of blocks to our hotel. Now I would probably smoke 2 of those cones back to back to get as high.
Bottom line the market is flooded with top notch pot, seeds, concentrates, Et al. It comes down to perspective. If you've been smoking concentrates and taking edibles then you probably won't be impressed with many strains of weed.
Me, I just broke open one of my homegrown buds and the smell reminded me of lebanese blonde hash. 2 dollar seed, good yielder and minimal trimming. The results of decades of breeding. Is it "Fire"? Probably not. I don't have optimal drying conditions quite the opposite so the taste and smell are so so. A novice would probably green out if they took more than 1 toke though. So it depends on who's smoking it and what their tolerance is.
