5x5 attic grow

I have built a fairly well sealed and insulated 5x5 attic grow room within my attic because I love homegrown citrus. It probably will get up to 120 in there mid summer. My question is will a portable ac unit be enough to cool just my room? I will have a nice exhaust fan. Its sealed well with plastic and reflectix. Was hoping a 9000 btu unit would work. I was planning on putting in a 600hps. plzplzplz help

i think the ac would work fine for that room with good exhaust and a cooltube for the light would help alot.
if you could have the passive intake drawing air from room below instead of attic air would be good.

thanks bro. I was gonna do all those things. The pasive intake from a cooled house room was an idea i have been kicking around but i was hoping it wouldnt be necessary.

it may not be nec. but its an option. you can just set it up so it just looks like a vent for the room below. or since your in the attic you can get outside air, it wont be as warm as the attic air. i love the 5x5 room idea for the attic, just not an option for me at this time. good luck and keep us posted or start a journal. id love to see some pics of your room.

also before you put plants in there, do a dry run with lights and fans running to check for light leaks and see what your temps run so you can tweak anything before you start. a little preventive maintenance before hand will save you from having to solve problems during the grow.
ive never used a portable a/c but that is going to need to be vented to the outside. it will produce alot of heat. so adjustments on the exhaust fan may be necessary. ( size of exhaust fan, may need a speed controller for exhaust.) a larger passive intake may be needed also due to the portable ac.
