6 inch carbon fan & filter

im looking to buy a 6 inch carbon fan and filter. im looking for anyone who has experience in buying these and could lead me into a good cheap bank for buck fan. noise isnt a issue because i know all are loud.. im cooling a 400w hps looking to spend under 200 including shipping


so far i got this as a fan

but im not sure on what filter to get, could anyone give me a review on that and lead me to a proper filter? i dont want a tall boy.

no you should be fine, as long as the cfm for the fan is more than is recommended for the filter you will have no smell. The filter can only pull max 350cfm, so the fan being stronger just means you will have nice airflow through the filter. Them fans are powerful, trust me.

ok, thanks for the link ill see what others have to post. i thought the CFM of filter had to be higher then fan for no smell this is my first time buying a filter

dont buy the knock offs. a cheap fan will not give u the cfms that the seller says its rated at. u r better off getting a hydrofarm fan off amazon or another name brand fan, so that u can look at the website for the stats. what is the space u need to cool? and what hood r u going to be using? how r u going to have it set up?

also amazon is cheaper than ebay even with shipping and u can use ur paypal still.

i would rather use ebay. its a small space but a 4 inch fan and filter isnt cutting it because with the reducers attached my ducting is smashed resulting is massive loss of air flow. without the reducers it should be fine. its a cooltube btw.

oh ok I see what you saying now, after reading the specs, it does say not to exceed 350cfm. I used that filter with my 6" growbrite inline fan on my 3rd grow and the cfm for the fan is 424 cfm. I never checked the specs, just ordered, hooked it up and it cleared up the skunky smell in about half hour. The filter worked great for about a year. Do get more advice though :) Good luck!

amazon is cheaper even if u have to pay for shipping but most of it ships free anyways and u can still use ur paypal. but its ur choice.

i just got 1000 bucks worth of shit off amazon and used my paypal. it doesnt show up ountil checkout becuz all amazon sellers accept it. unlike ebay.

i got a paypal card with my account. i used that. u can also use bill me later. its a paypal run credit service. so im pretty sure u can use paypal.

yeah i got a local store. the prices listed on the items in store are always higher then online.. i always have to remind them of the cheaper deals on ebay.

sorry to say this,but get a tall boy and thank me later...I tried the short filter and it would not keep up with the real stinky stuff, so i had to get a tall boy and so far so good..7 girls in flower under 1600w and they are stinkyshit and no smell by my frontdoor

what tall boy would you recommend. i just dont like them because its hard to hang them by yourself.
