This is my first plant and its been growing outdoors in my backyard. I dont know what the strain is i got it from some really dank bud, the buds are all purple and it looks amazing haha, can you guys let me know if it looks done or how much longer it needs. thanks guys!IMG_0447.jpgIMG_0448.jpgIMG_0449.jpgIMG_0450.jpgIMG_0451.jpgIMG_0453.jpgIMG_0454.jpgIMG_0455.jpgIMG_0456.jpg

look's real good man. if it's only 6 week's then I would start flushing if in soil. But you really need to check the trich's. If you see amber then your real close.

6 weeks from the appearance of flowers, or 6 weeks from the switch to 12/12 lighting?

I agree with tony on inspecting the trichs. Lot of good articles here on when to harvest, depending upon the maturity of the trichs AND the type of smoke you are looking to produce. There are some advantages to harvesting 'early'.

I really can't tell anything about the conditions of your plant's trichs from these photos. However, the buds look nice but a little small. Assuming trichs are clear + cloudy, I would keep going, maybe even another 10 days - 2 weeks.

They look as if they could be ready but it doesn't seem likely at 6 weeks. I've noticed that the buds typically seem to look more done than they really are if they were handled and foreign debri gets on the pistils. I believe the plant thinks that the debri is pollen so the pistil dies right away even though the contaminants contained no genetic material to create a seed. Another reason could be the stem breaking which seems to stress the plant out and turn the hairs brown and become more frosty but bud growth itself it stunted. The fact that they look more frosty is more likely due to the bud not swelling but the trichomes continue to fill out giving it a higher trichome density. This isn't based on any sort of fact just a feeling from observation.

If you don't have a pocket microscope. The pistols(hairs) will transform from white to what ever color your plant strain produces. The ends of the pistols will dry out and shrivel up this is a sign she is getting close to a finish. The bottom buds will mature before the tops. Look at your lower branches for signs that she is close to harvest. Cut a small bud off one of the lower branches. Dry it out and smoke it. If your happy cut it down. If not wait a few more weeks. Look at the condition of the pistols again. Take another small test bud. If you get a pocket microscope. You want around 80% amber trichromes.
