600 Watt HPS+ 400 Watt HPS or MH?

Im debating whether I should get a 400 watt hps or mh to supplement my 600 watt hps. I've heard that hps+mh gives off both the dominant blue spectrum of mh and the dominant red spectrum of hps which results in better growth. I'll be using these lights for pure flowering purposes only, what do you guys think?

to me if your going for another light get HPS it is the best for flowering. I could see using both for Veg but not for flower.

There are full spectrum hps and mh bulbs. Just get a digital ballast then you can switch the bulb when ever you want. Imo get the full spectrum hps. it has more of the red you need for flowering.

Im trying to be economical here, I need to cover an additional 1x3' area so I needed to buy another light. What I want to know is which bulb(hps or mh) would be a better combination with my 600 watt hps.

I would get another HPS. If you can, spring for a blue enhanced bulb, like a Hortilux Eye, or a Digilux HPS.

hydro farm makes a digital 400 enclosed system! I use one for my breeding and tomatoes. they are about $200 w/ bulb your choice mh/hps if it is for flowering get the hps. the 600 and 400 together will be more effective than a 1000 by its self, due to the light coming from 2 points. less shadow that way. Then if you want you can upgrade the bulb to something with a better spectrum. HPS is for flowering and MH is for veg. If it is for flower go with the HPS.
