6000w Light Leak Help (pics)

Whatup guys,

I'm having a little trouble with a light leak issue in my 6000w room if anyone has suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it, so:

This is a Prop 215 grow for our delivery service in the Bay Area. There are 3 lights that are air cooled on each side. This isn't a sealed room so I've cut a square in one wall with a good filter for airflow as you can see in the image.

This is in a back garage and I keep the garage door open a foot or two for fresh air to come in. In the winter when the days are shorter I didn't have this light leak problem but now that it's summer I'm not sure how to go about blocking the light from coming in.

I just flipped the lights so this is day 1 of flower. I have the timer coming on from 9am to 9pm. Sunrise is at 6am and sunset is at 9pm. So from 6-9am there is light coming through that filter. Ideally I would like this grow to start from 9pm to 9am running at night.

My question is how can I cover this so no light is coming in but still get airflow? I've thought of making some sort of box around it with ducting or tubing with 90 degree angles and I've thought of cutting air vents in the garage door so I can close it all the way but I'm not sure if light will still come in.

Any suggestions?

This is what you do.. slip in there a square frame of 2x4's screwed to the existing 3sides of 2x4's and one on top going across making a box, then screw down a piece of plywood to those 2x4's closing it in blocking the vent and light, and cut a circle or square vent hole in this plywood and attach a duct collar.
Or...
just run a piece of 2x4 on top using the existing 2x4 framing there making a box shape, and then bolt the plywood on with cut hole.

(make pilot holes for screw holes of plywood to 2x4's and screw in a way you can remove for filter changes.)
 
when you screw down plywood to 2x4's you can have some weatherstripping insulation stuffed in there squished down for super seal and cleaner than calking or expanding spray foam, and for filter change later.
 
Either fullY sheath the walls and Use the stud channels, or build double walls with about 6-8" free air space between them. Large household HVAC filters and use vent covers on both sides of any vent holes, like the ones below. If you can stagger the vents,such as outside vent low, inside high, you won't get light. 90deg bends are your friend.

Or get professional and seal it and get climate control, not like you're doing this just for fun. One of those lights should easily pay for it.
 
Thank you for your input. I'm gonna try every method I can. After this harvest I will most likely end up sealing the room with Co2. That seems like the best option.

they do make light tight vents for photography darkrooms if you don't want to DIY
