rnd5.T.JPG Round5, week-6 and my first bud (worm) rot. I saw one bud then another on the same plant. Snapped off the offending buds. Breaking the biggest one open revealed a small curled worm that looked dead and he fell out of an egg nest. I hit them all again real hard with Cease and Spinosad, and Cease and BT, each with a few drops of dish soap.

Imo, bud rot is brought on by caterpillars. I can see why getting the Spinosad and Ceasernd5.U.JPG or BT and Cease deep inside the buds is important. Look how the base of the one water leaf rotted. The bug had been there awhile, escaping previous spino or BT sprayings. Live and learn, I'm watching daily for a re-occurrence.

I realize that most of you have been worried sick over whether the bud-rot would spread. This morning it's all clear, no sigh of dead leaf brackets within the buds, a sure sign of bud-death. Spraying twice a week with Spinosad and BT alternating. Both can be mixed with Cease or Milstop. Miltop has a surfactant that reduces the surface tension of a liquid in which it is dissolved. Meaning a couple drops of unscented dish-washing soap is not necessary when using a mixing of Milstop with Cease, etc. Both are water-based and compatible. From 5 weeks into flower and on to harvest.... throw everything you have at the pests.

bud rot is mold. pests can bring in mold spores- likely when they burrow into a bud and eat they kill plant parts and shit. these dead plant parts die and rot and fungi digest them. mold spores are everywhere but it takes certain plant conditions for it to flourish this way.

I use the pump sprayers to jam juice into the buds right down to the stem where the little crawlers begin their damage. Full-on war now . And the pumps work great for herding trich-cows home to the corral. Ride 'em cowboy!
