7 weeks flowering - small buds

Hi All,
My friend from Canada is about 7 weeks into flowering, approaching 8. This is his first grow and his buds appear really premature at this stage. I'm assuming that he don't have enough light (HPS light on the way).

They are small, but smell crazy strong and have some good crystal production. Could I get some feedback from you pros? ;)

you definitely could use more light and it looks like you have nitrogen toxicity from too high levels of nutes.
 
yes I agree looks pretty immature...not sure how long the flowering time is for that variety, if it's a long one your HPS may bulk it up some if you get it soon, but I'm also wondering about his ferts? Possibly too much N? Just throwing that out there. Good luck

Now is not the time to worry about yields or high :bigjoint:

What nutes are you using and what are the NPK values???

Too much N can stunt flowering and the tips curling down on your leaves is what is telling us you are feeding to much N (that and the dark green color)
 
how long did it take to show sex? them buds dont look too bad. how long its been flowering should be measured by when they first clearly show sex.
 
If you put it that way, they showed sex about 2 weeks after the light cycle changed. So, would you call that 5-6 weeks of flowering?
 
yup, they are 5-6 weeks flowering approx., i'd get more light like your doing. they dont look too bad like isaid before but that doesnt mean they cant look alot better, which they will after a week or two w/the hps. i'd expect a pretty big jump in growth rate soon. imo
