So lately I've been googling this subject but can't find a reasonable answer.

My question is:
Can the sunlight be used for half of my 12/12 light cycle while growing indoors?
Basically can it be done. Can someone pull there ladies out early in the am for 6-7 hours outside then bringing them back in for the remaining 5 hours left under there 1k light set ups?
Anyone ever tried to save a buck or two in electricity?
Is there good and bads doing this method?
Cant wait to see what people have to say :)

yes, it can be done, and plants love sun light.. the only downside is lugging flowering plants in and out twice a day... once they start flowering they can get very big and kind of awkward to carry around like that ime..

i personally havent tried YET!!!
as for lugging in plants i have no issue with that. where i live its completely blocked off so unwanted visitors is no factor. but i do understand what you mean. carrying big plants with big buds falling over can be hectic :cuss: ive carried plants back and forth before just not mine.

my only concern is stressing the plant.will it cause stress?
what are the benefits in doing this?

nah, it won't stress anything imo...
the bennies are pretty much two fold as i see it.. lower electric bill as you have already stated, plus no amount of indoor light is going to equal the sun, plus it's free...
plants grown outdoors should always out yield those grown indoors....

oh yah, i almost forgot about the possibility of bringing bugs back in with the plant if you were to take it outdoors for several hours a day.. that's another down side i almost forgot all about..

The natural sun light mos def helps the plants. you have to think, all your doing in a grow space is creating enough light to adequately harvest plants. outside, it is their natural habitat and they eat that shit up. There are issues with doing this though. as already stated bugs can transfer very quickly. and if you bring them inside, they are certain to multiply. also, i don't know where you are from but in my region it has already been a blazing hot summer so watch the temps. outside your plants can stand a little bit warmer temp due to air circulation but not much. good luck!

yeah i was just gonna mention that racer. mites are all but invisible. but it's worth the risk. i think as long as you keep an eye out for them. and you have a plan in case you get em. and idk...mb i might keep them seperate from any other plants you have indoors just in case.

im in california and man weather is crazy out here. one day its cold the next is fucking hot. we havent reached over 95 out here yet. but if i decide to take the plunge its most certain common sense when to take them out and when not to. i havent ran into the spider mite problem. im on it when it comes to being bug free. for the most part i dont have mites here. every watering i clean my room out and inspect every leaf on the plant.

Yes but its a bad idea.. 1) the temp change from indoor to out can kill a plant in a few mins. And when you bring you plant back inside.. you now have lots of bugs Grow Inside or outside.. two differnt problems. if you mix them.. you can have lots of fun.

I'm in Cali too. Temps are crazy right now. But if you have a area you can put them outside for 7 hours why not go all 12 and bring them in for dark? I would say 7-7. Also remember you need to harden the plants to the sun. That means starting outside at the time you pick. And only leave them out for 1 hour then the next day 2 and so on. Keep this up till you pass the hottest part of the day. Here that's around 3.

And that's why you need to becarful of who you take advice from online. I grow indoors and out. My mothers where with my out door. Then I deside what 15 I wanted out side and brought the others inside. Take them out every now and then. Just gotta match temps. Can't go from my room set at 80 and place outside when it's 110. So about twice a week they get 2 hours of am light. 6-8 and happy as clams.

learned that one already people dont like to see other people prevail in this industry. i take them out at 10:00am exact. weathers pretty chill still in so cal at that time. lights off there at 60-65. lights on its 80-85 with co2 running of course. luckily our temps have been on low 80's outside but starting tomorrow they say its gonna be 91 so what do you think?check before crossing lol

Keep the same times. My outdoor plants are now in 105+ temps. My mothers are down south and we are around 90.

I use the outdoor/indoor method for the veg. cycle. I leave them out all day and bring them in for an additional 6 hours of cfl coverage. I keep them inside for flowering but only because it's painfully obvious what kind of plants i"m trucking in and out of my backdoor everyday once they get a couple feet tall. It does tend to bring in bugs though. A light dusting of sevin on the soil surface usually does the trick. It's probably not good for you and bad for the bees, but i'm sure there's more pesticides in my store bought bananas, plus bees don't seem to be attracted to pot. But I like the daily chore. It makes it feel more like actual gardening.
