A Few Questions

1.) I want to use weed for mixing with coconut oil mostly. How would harvesting early effect its effectiveness if it is going to be cooked rather than smoked?

2.) Is there any type weed that is particularly good for cooking?

Thanks

I would assume if you harvest early you will experience less potency and a more cerebral feeling. I never do edibles much so maybe someone else will elaborate. But I am sure it is the same if by early you mean all clear trichs.

If you harvest early you will have less thc (the oils you are wanting for edibles) so let it fully mature and the last week of flower put it in pitch darkness.then you will have the most resin you can get.you will have alot less effective product if you harvest early.any weed makes good edibles but sweeter varieties will taste better so stay away from sours and diesels and such.I imagine cotton candy and shishkaberry would make good edibles.

I am also looking for something that is newbie friendly. Are those you mention easy to grow?

everything to me is easy to grow lol Im past the noob phase though.the more you leave it alone the better it will grow.just keep it watered and it will be fine.ive grown the cotton candy and its easy to grow but havnt grown shishkaberry yet.I always recommend white widow to noobs as its about the easiest and the most potent in the world with great yields.your edibles will still taste about the same with the widow as the resin isnt really flavored 1 way or the other its all thc in the end and the flavor of your edible you make is what you will be tasting in the end.plus it looks like its been snowed on at harvest time just put it in pure darkness the last week of flower.good luck

I made up a batch of MJ "salve" a while ago. We used fan leaves as the base, cooked them down and mixed with coconut oil
and/or lanolin. Salve came out nice and avocady-colored. But a month or so later the sealed jars of salve started to turn
brownish. Lanolin worked better than CO.

Before the product started turning brown I thought I had a great new use for our crop. I thought of marketing it as a tattoo renewal agent.
It sure made old tats bright. But then again so did the straight lanolin. Now I have a product without a purpose.
