I started my girls on 4/16, from seed. I've been using 2 dwc reservoirs with 4 plants each. As of 5/25, I have 5 females in flower. They are under 800w (400 mh, 400 hps.) This is my first real grow by the way

They are looking niiiice. I'll grab some pictures, let you guys take a look. All I can say is that in a week I have 6-10 colas (i fim'd in my 3rd week of veg, and two of my largest plants sprouted 3- 5 main branches.). This is all bag seed, and I must say, it's looking pretty dank.

quick question: I have a pretty well formed SOG canopy with my 5 plants. There are some popcorn buds toward the bottom. They are young, obviously, but they have some decent bud growth on them (aprox .2-.5 g dried per popcorn bud site...) So I'm planning on cutting them away so the plant doesn't waste sugars on them. You think this far in I could dry them and smoke them, or is that just a waste of time?

I'll get pics up as soon as I can....

peace.

Your question is going to attrack different answers or different opinions.
My experience has been that when you cut anything off of a plant, it goes into shock, and the more you cut off, the longer it stays in shock.
I would respectfully suggest that you do not do anything to those fluff buds, they won't eat much without getting diffect light, and when those cola stamens turn red and the trichs are changing colors, those fluff buds will stay immature fluff buds. When you harvest, harvest the tops and mature buds only, and then wait for them to come out of shock ( a week) and throw the lights to what remains. You'll be glad you did.

roseman... i'll heed your advice and hold off... you're "7 weeks into flowering " thread is one of the first that I bookmarked for reference...

There are a few leave/bud sites that need to go as they my area is getting seriously overcrowded. I'm just gonna clear towards the bottom a tiny bit so that air can move down there.

Borrowing a buddies camera hopefully after work today, so hopefully i'll be able to put up some pics tonite... i'm really interested to see what everyone has to say about them...

thanks dude!
peace.
