A question about soil.

I live in canada and cannot find fox farm soil/nutes anywhere. I was wondering about some alternatives, last year I used black earth and sheep/cattle manuer in my holes never fed them either but never got the results i was hoping, ive searched the forums and cannot really find anything that makes sence to me so if someone could lay a good mix down nice and simple it would be much appreciated.

What kind of results did you get? Was your sheep manure composted or straight out the cattle's ass?

Your mix doesn't seem bad if done right. You probably need a top dress for more pottasium and phos.

And how deep were your holes?

I may not have the answers for you but I'm sure I asked questions that the really smart people will probably also want to know.

good questions BigJon :P . I agree with your assessment that it needs something to address the pottasium and phos, especially in later flower.
I would suggest Subcools revised supersoil mix 2010, you wont have to worry about nutrient additions, all youll have to do is water it through the full grow.

I've been slowly buying my stuff for Subcool's mix! I don't think I'll be able to afford it so I'm thinking I'll be doing half the amount and hoping for the best.

Look into tea-posting, worm composting to collect casting, and maybe add some perilite or vermiculite, in case you are having issues retaining moisture. What results are you having and what were you hoping? If you are growing those tiny lowryders than your soil is probably fine and your genetics are to blame.
