Having switched over to no combustion several years ago, I end up with a good bit of ABV that still has some potency (I usually vape @ 210C, get 4 hits off a load, and don't go up in temp). Since part of the reason I switched to vaping was the amount it stretches my herb, I've been considering what I could do with the ABV in the edibles realm. Prior to this, a friend of mine down on his luck would come by and get the ABV, mix it 50/50 with some herb, and bong it.
Seems there are two sides of the camp: those who treat the ABV to a cold water bath for like 2-3 days prior to cooking, and those who simply use it straight. The cold water bath is time consuming, but is supposed to remove any bitter or "vaped" taste to the ABV prior to using in edibles.
Anyway, anyone here have any experience with ABV? Any gotchas or tips for a first time edible maker (am a cook, so the technical skill set I have)? Opinions on the cold water bath?
Thought I would see if anyone had any wisdom they would care to impart. Either way, thanks for taking the time to read.
