Accident that resulted in a clone

I have a PPP plant that has stretched to over 3 times its height when I started flowering. Right after it started showing pistols I was fucking with it trying to put a tomatoe cage on it and snapped off a branch end. I thought fuck it I'll stick it in dirt. This accidental clone is a couple of weeks old, and looks pretty healthy. I've never cloned a plant before, wondering when I should transplant to a bigger pot. I'm just going to go with 12/12 since I only have one grow space and I've already got one in flower. At least I know it's female.

Once you see roots circling around the soil, rootbound is the term. Just turn it upside down with the stem between your fingers and gently pull the cup off.

If you did that a few dozen times you'd have a sea of green! Good luck with your grow.

It is a lot easier to repot when the soil is dry and ready to water, it slides out easier and it stays in one piece easier. Just wait a few more weeks for plenty of roots to grow and hold the soil together well as this will eliminate transplant shock.

Yeah, I've transplanted many plants, I just wasn't sure how long before transplanting a clone. Can't see the roots to tell, and I don't know how fast they'll produce compared to a regular seedling. I'll wait at least one more week.

i usually wait till i see some kind of new growth. then i know its got a decent set of roots started up.

Makes sense. That sounds like the plan. I was surprised it didn't die. I did nothing fancy. Kind of a bonus plant.

don't count your chickens yet....they sometimes last a long time before they start to wilt, without one root...you usually see a little fading when they start to root, they're drawing on mobile nutes to build the roots

Thats pretty cool. Didnt know clones could root without some sort of solution being applied
