I am going on vacation soon for 6 days and i want to buy this gravity irrigation watering kit for my indoor grow (i will be using my own bucket for my reservoir)...http://www.irrigationdirect.com/irrigation-products-and-supplies/drip-irrigation/drip-irrigation-kits/gravity-feed-kits/gravity-feed-drip-irrigation-kit-for-dirty-water-starter Along with this timer to self water for me :) http://www.irrigationdirect.com/catalog/product/view/id/249/s/dd-hedt/category/89/

Anyone see anything wrong with any of this?

are you growing in soil, soilless, hempy or what? how big are your plants, how big are the pots?

are you using drippers soaker tubes sprayers or open ended lines?

a few quick points on these things. I used one a few years ago, and they are ok with a soaker hose off a hose bib, but they are balls with a sprinkler. the aperture of the valve is much smaller than your hose bib so the sprinkler just pisses and dribbles even with the bib valve all the way open. on a soaker hose with the bib valve all open, the back couple feet on my 25 foot soaker stayed dry, and i lost a few strawberries (absolutely need a downhill slope from the hose bib) but that's under pressure. if you are gravity feeding, it may not even open the valve without pressure, or it might automatically shut itself off. when mine didnt sense any pressure from the open valve it turned itself off (houseguest turned off the valve instead of the Y connector) and it never worked again. new batteries didnt help, it may have just broke down, but it only lasted 6 months. if you are gravity feeding with any knid of restrictor (like a sprayer or dripper) it may not feed enough juice to make the dispenser work right. if you got more than one plant hooked up in series, it may drop all the water at the front and leave the downstream plants to dry out. test if fully before you trust it with your ganja. set it up in the yard exactly like you plan to use ot, and let it rip. if it doesnt dispense to all locations, try pinching upstream emitters closed, and opening up the ones down stream. you may even have to use more than one.

the only away from home watering system that ever worked for me was used IV drip bag valves on a big ass water source. set the valve on the tube to drip every 15 to 20 seconds and 5 gallons should be good for a few days. i fed mine from a 35 gallon barrel upstairs in the attic (for altitude) its a gravity feed system so as long as there is water, and nobody fucks with the valve, it works. you gotta have a tube and valve for each plant though, and that was a pain in the ass (15 1/4 inch tubes running 50-60 feet though the house each) but im thinking maybe i could use an old float valve from a carburetor to control feed to a secondary vessel, with individual shorter tubes from the secondary vessel to feed the plants. hmmmmmmmmmmm... Mildred! bring me my slide rule and drafting pencils!

Well i have a 3x3x6.5 grow with 9 plants and they are in 3 gallon pots also the ends will be drippers. I am going to use a 20 gallon tub for my reservoir and i want to put the reservoir sorta above my grow tent and to the side on a shelf which i already have in place for it to sit on because its gravity built then have my tubing going into the top of my tent onto the bottom so i can feed my plants...Everything should be in this irrigation kit http://www.irrigationdirect.com/irrigation-products-and-supplies/drip-irrigation/drip-irrigation-kits/gravity-feed-kits/gravity-feed-drip-irrigation-kit-for-dirty-water-starter Along with this timer http://www.irrigationdirect.com/catalog/product/view/id/249/s/dd-hedt/category/89/

I have my dad come over while I take my vacations. He always over-waters the plants. I can handle a little too much water than having to deal with dead dry plants : ( He normally makes me kick him down hundred bucks though. In fact everytime I ask him to do anything he wants 100 bucks...

whatever you do, do a practice run now so you can work the bugs out. 6 days is too long without water
