aero help.... checked my reservoir and it was orange!!

does anyone know wtf happend... why did my water turn this color

could just be the nutes - my Foxfarm trio turns the AG water a greenish color, so that could be it

I think that color is from the grow sponges. They leak their color into the water. You have the brown sponges with the divit in the top, right?

well what kind of water you using.

are you using blood meal? i ask cuz some of that red shit looks chunky and a grow sponge shouldnt be leaving chunks of coloring.

if your water isnt filtered you may have high iron in your tap.
i used to live in a place where the water came from the tap clean, but if you left a glass of it out it turned nasty red and got a hard oil-esque shell on top.

leave a glass of whatever water out and see what happens. or start looking at your seals on things, sometimes they can degrade.

What are you using to adjust your pH? I was using lemon juice, but i found that it caused a orange slime to develop in my res. I switched to an aquarium pH adjuster and started to add 2ml of 35% H2O2 for my 4L res and it cleared right up.

yea that could be it those are the sponges i use... i cleaned it out and it didnt get that color again... so i guess it was the sponges
