all my plants keep getting droppy with the aeroflo and die. the manual say to keep the pump on 24/7 for best result but i have a feeling it not a good idea. any one with advice on what to do? i have one light and it in rockwool with hydroton in the coco cup and 3 inch net.

Yeah, run that pump 24/7 just like they say......but what are the temps of the res solution? Then, how deep are you running the channels---how deep is it where it spills over the tubes going to the res? and how long and what shape are the roots in? Lots of necessary questions if you cant find your answer, and pics are worth thier weight in gold. Oh, is the rockwool staying wet? = probs. Res temps getting to and staying in the mid to upper 70's = probs. The warmer the res solution the lower you want the height of the tubes in the channels = this has help me lots anyway: figuring less root matter to cook in the channels when too warm---I actually get away with res running 77-79 lights on and 69 lights off, which I KNOW most say is too warm, so get other feedback as well. I run sealed with co2, so it is warm......and I compost the roots with cannazyme. I've personally never ran with the pump off except when the power went out, and they drooped within few hours, and I 've read and heard that the wear and tear on the pump when on a cycle timer equals worse than the heat the pump actually causes(I find mine to run a few above ambeint when 24/7). I would think to at least run it a few times on the off cycle if not leave on; but I never need to in flood/drain table I use......idk
BOTTOM LINE, from my experience, the GH AF are completely awesome right out of the box, no diy can duplicate it for the price(and is why they try). One light is NOT enough on a 30! More like 3K. And if your going to go sog at all, 2 1000's or 3 600's--I run 3 on a 20 site and it's not enough when I 've used the 600's.
Dont give up on that system! Give it a good fair chance and you'll love it. I did mod mine to get the channels further appart and also I use one of those yellow/black tuff tote things from Home Depot for a res.....easier to switch out and I do that a lot too.
Nutes?

Of course this is all IMHO!! I am not dishing on diy at all..... my cloners and veg units are my diy and I would diy these af's too, but it's not the same. I 've built them and bough them built/used and you just cant diy these channels with the corner 'laser-drilled'(sheeeit) line like they do. And NO LEAKS! I still replace the seals around my cloners lids every few runs--is why I would like an EZ-Cloner.....

Wow, can you tell I am smoking some good shit tonight??

Hey, great luck to you in your adventure......dont run off so quick:bigjoint:
