aerogarden settings???

hi this is my first post here so here goes!
i bought an aerogarden a few weeks ago for growing and i had decent results up until about 3 weeks in...my plants started to turn yellow and the fan leaves started to wilt...they're all still alive but in AWFUL shape...i'm wondering what i should do...

the machien has five settings:

1. Flowers
2. Vegetables
3. Salad Greens
4. Herbs
5. Live Plants

i currently have it set to "live plants"...i've also been keeping the light on for 24 hours a day

at first, i just used the nutrients included in the aerogarden...however, i started to play around with a mixture of miracle grow and epsom salts...both of these nutrients seemed to work well intiially, however growth decreased...

so after that background, i have a few questions

• How often should i change the water/nutrients in the reservoir?
• What setting should i put it on?
• What kind of nutrient solution should i use?

Changing out your res water once every week, giving it new nute tabs after you change water is a good practice.

I would get an external timer and not worry about the AG settings for lights.

Pictures would help also.

It sounds to me like your plants are just burned out on light, switch to a cycle with some darkness, like 18/6 or 20/4.

They are probably exhausted.

from what i understand, the aerogarden has its own built in timer and the one i got has only one setting: 16/8...is there any way i can over ride this and use a external timer? i appreciate the other pointers tho

Yes, like it is mentioned in the thread, if you buy a figure 8 power cord you can plug the AG hood light directly into the timer, and keep your pump on 24/7 while keeping the light on an external timer.
