There are some strains that produce very little smell. My last 2 plants were Herijuana, and it has very little smell both growing and in the jars. ...The shit will chain you to a couch with a remote control though

I cannot help you if you wont help yourself. You have obviously put very little effort into learning how to grow before jumping in. I had hundreds of hours in reading before I ever popped a seed. I didnt put all that effort in so you didnt have to. Read up bro. Its all here for the taking.

Jar the buds. Let them sit over night. They will get soft again. Open the jar let buds dry some more then back in the jars for at least 12 hrs. Then open jars for 2-3 hrs. Repeat process just like how you turn your lights on and off kinda. Do that for at least 2 weeks....youll be fine!!!! F.Y.I the grass smell means parts of the bud still have water in them!! Happy Growing!

The whole purpose of curing is so that the chlorophyll and left over nutes have time to evaporate out of bud.. If you dry to quick, or don't cure right then you get the hay and green taste..
Patience dude is the key.. Why spend 4wks. veg...8wks flower just to get impatient and screw it up in the end..

why would you assume that i didnt research...

i { simply didnt read everything out there ...}
and when i came across a problem i asked people who are supposed to be experienced for help...
i wasnt aware that u could dry to fast,
i was aware that fan drying would rapidly dry ya plant and leave u wit shitty tasting bud....
this is my second grow im trying to cure and the problem is that the info i got from ( reading stated that losts of strains lose thier smell during harvest and the grass smell is normal and will leave during cure...
i just wanted to make sure and ask some one whos possibly been their before...
and text books have knowledge in them but theres nothing like experience ....
shit my research say let dry out then jar...
but thats how u lose ya smell right, so one of the users here suggested that i didnt let it dry out but let it dry enough so its just starting to crisp on the out side of the bud and the jar ,burping it often enough so it wouldnt be soaking from sweat but still wet and able to dry slow......
now thats help and thats only help that experience can bring....

what i really wanted is some one to confirm what i was told and read , and let me know how long i should expect to wait untill my buds smell like they should{ not like sweet grass.}

you simlpy dried it to fast. drying it should be in a dark, cool and ventilated area. the slower they dry the better they smell, the longer they cure the better the taste.
my advice to you is just cure. cure cure cure and cure some more until you feel the smell doesnt bother you.
now you got the info on WHY they smell funny PLUS how to regulate it.
and i agree with those who say you should read mo shit , BUT nothing beats experience. try until you get it right...thats the way to do it. trial and error

you can spend hours reading books but your still going to have questions. That's the point of this site. Half of your people crack me up on here..there are lots of people who come on here to help but half of you dont have a life and you have nothing better to do but try to "get another post on riu" and say the dumbest things. Why even reply to something if your not going to help.
The better you trim your buds,the less it will smell like hay while curing. I wish I could give you more advice as I'm still learning as well..just keep doing research and tune out the some of the idiots on here.

I have to agree with you here. It would have been so much easier for him to say, "Dry you buds until the stems break when you try to bend them, then jar them and burp the jars 1 or 2 times daily for about a month".

Go to youtube and search curing weed there are great videos up there I watched a lot of them when it came time to harvest first plant and they all pretty much say the same thing. There is also excelent researh on here if you go to the harvest and cure section. Real experiance. Takes a long time to read and or watch but like someone said you spent all this time growing it so be careful not to jump the gun at the end and either dry them up or worse, mold them out. Either way the net is a wealth of information and I liked the videos the best. They all say the same thing as the guys here have told you.

anyhoo's, yah, just jar them up m8, open about 2x's a day for the first 2 weeks or so, after about 3 weeks the smell is pretty much going to be set at what it is... i have had slow dried buds lose their smell after drying, but it will usually come back after a nice cure..
but like also mentioned, some strains don't smell all that much even after a nice cure, and others might not smell much during flowering, but after a cure, holy fuck, they stink... chocolate rain from sannies seed shop was like that for me, not too stinky growing, but after a cure, i couldn't believe the difference..

I agree with you 100%. I have been growing for years and I still have questions but my point was that if your questions are answered in any FAQs on any MJ site then you are lazy and you shouldnt be wasting your time and beens.
