So I was hearing from a co worker that his buddy doesn't stick to 24 hour lightin schedule he starts 36/12 then cuts to 24/24 anyone ever tried this? It seems like a double edged sword...please discuss.. :bongrip:

I have read about that, it falls in to one of those lost methods.
Would this not drag out your grow time? at least the flowering time i would think it would, your talking about vegging under 36 hrs of light, and then 12 dark, right? And then flowering under 24 hrs of light, and 24 hrs dark?
I have seen others who do things like a 14/4 to speed up the veg time. and move to like 10/10 during flower.
Im not sure how the 24/24 circle would work.

You know I never heard anyone talk about it but I was wondered how light schedules like that could effect growth.

I figured it would either delay ir or help it I mean longer days means more veg and more dark means longer to flower but it just seems un natural

Due to lack of hormone reproduction, plants become unable complete essential life cycles. Plants are somewhat genetically programmed I think the results would be minuscule. Plants most likely will stress and loose vigor resulting in pour yield and damaged genetic make up.
Well I have heard that anything over 14 hours of light will keep the plant in veg.
By going into 12/12 you go under the 14 hour mark which will trigger flowering.
the 36/12 would work for veg, but I dont know about 24/24 flower cycle. The 24 hour on might make the plants go back into veging. When you go into 12/12 you simulate the change in season, so I dont know if 24/24 would simulate the change in season.
In alaska, they have days were there is sun light 24 hours, if you can grow weed outdoors in alaska, then Iam sure this alternate light cycle could work.
