First Time grower here; Going into my 10th day here, and its NOT looking very promising.
I've invested about $1,000 bucks into this grow closet and ive seen better stuff on this forum with just a few CFL's. I know money doesn't buy skill or wisdom, but the money was there to invest and my shrink said i needed a hobby besides Sex, Drugs and Rock-n-Roll. Should have started off easy. But fuck it.
Anyway...
running 600w MH in a 25sft Closet, 7 feet tall.
Here they are:
They germinated in wet paper towel method and then placed in rapid rooters. Moisten them up with Tap water pH 6.5 then placed them in a plastic container with a quarter inch of that pH6.5 water. I then placed a clear plastic dome over it. (note: i started off really bad, i used nutrient mixed pH6.5 water to germinated. Had it like that for 14 hours til i realized my mistake. Temperature ranges from 76-84 degrees Fahrenheit with Humidity between 50-70%.

This is the most promising one, however, she's long, very long for a 10 day seedling in my opinion. I think i stretched her in the early days due to my light being around 5ft, then 3 ft. But then temperature's started rising up to around 87 inside the dome. So i kept playing around with lighting height and intake fan,
, and for the past day and a half, i set my light @ 1 ft away from the top of the plastic dome and decided to turn on my intake fan running @ its slowest possible speed. (its 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside. -7 Celsius.) NOw its a comfortable 78-81f inside the dome with humidity @ 58-61. Also, she is showing awesome root penetration.
Only thing that bothers me about this one is that she's stretched, a bit wrinkled and sometimes a white, web like fungus type of something is produced on the longest blades. Also, shes starting to yellow. ok. maybe a lot of things are bothering me.
So... due to it's healthy root system, should i transplant her into my growing medium? Roots Organics 707? I've been told that the soil is too Hot with nutrients for seedlings this young. Or should i just be patient and wait another week? What is your opinion?
#2; Shes started off like this,
, then i transferred her over to a new rapid rooter,
, now she's stiffer and going vertical, but she's yellowing a lot!
. No roots have penetrated out of the rapid rooter.
#3;
, started off ok, but haven't seen much action going on on top. However, it looks like there's a lot of action going on behind the scenes;
, but not as much as #1. She's starting to yellow and brown. Does she have potential? Should i mover her into soil 707? No blades yet, WTF?
#4;
; deceased? Is she gone, can i save her? HOPE:
is that a root i see creeping up on top??? Should I transplant her into a new rapid rooter?
#5; R.I.P.
Any tips and advice is highly welcome. Constructive Criticism VERY welcomed.
p.s. : that IS electrical tape around the edges so light wont penetrate the roots growing out. Since its hot and humid in there, will any harmful chemicals leak out of that tape?
Sammy.
