and my paranoia kicks in...

So I have a pretty small box and inside of it are 6 CFL's and I was wondering because a couple of them are pretty close to the walls of the box if there is any sort of fire hazard when using CFl's. Also I'm kinda worried about electical fires because I'm using multiple extension cords. Can someone just tell me I'm paranoid a hell?

CFL do not produce much heat. I would not worry about it.Just be smart about things and you will be safe.

ive got 6 23watt cfls in a rubbermade box and it dosent do athing to the plastic and if you really wanted to test it take on out in you back yard and sit something on it and wach and see if anything will happen. i look at it as i can grab a light and hold it and not get burnt

I would not have more than 4 bulbs on 1 power cord, I had more than 4 once and a few sparks flew (with other power cords on same, plain, extension cord) so It seemed that 4 bulb was perfect, since my fixture could handle 4 with no problem. My opinion is 4 to 1 wire and you are ok, so 16 bulbs 4 wires. Cover the wires with plastic screw on taps and electrical wiring. Again, my opinion, do as you think is safe.
