So i want to use a 600w system for my lights.

For can i just pick up an ordinary 600w light fixture and swap the 600w MH with the 600w HPS?

OK i know what a ballast is but, is it safe to put a MH bulb in lamp even though the ballst came with a HPS lamp?

Some are swichable some are not. Digitals are mostly swichable.

If not you can always get a conversion bulb to fit you hps.

Sorry they require different ballasts. You can buy switchable ballasts though. GrowIT!:weed:

dont put a MH bulb in a ballast designed for HPS. you might end up doing a lot of damage and have to buy another ballast. there is a reason why they say HPS only. I wouldnt mess with that.

so if were to use that light fixture, and i could use the ballast linked below for the MH bulb... Unless the sockets are a different size?, and if it is ill just make my own sockt in the lamp. http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Greenhouse-Light-Maxwing-Reflector/dp/B001U1MEUW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1265744617&sr=8-1
