Antique Cabinet Grow!!

This is my first grow. I started by using an old antique cabinet. Inside I have hung two 2 ft fluorscents with 2 daylight 20 watt bulbs in each. Lined the whole inside with heavy duty tinfoil (I know mylar would have been easier but I'm trying to keep this cheap). Total I have 12 plants in cutoff 2 litre bottles. I'll try to update ever so often to show the growth.

Fox Farm Trio soil nutrients should be here tomorrow so hopefully they will take off . I don't smoke but I have a greenthumb and all my friends smoke so they provided the seeds. Supposedly some blueberry in there along with some moderatly good stuff. I may invest in some high end seeds once I see how this goes.

Added a fan today. I also moved the lights about an inch and a half from the plants and they seem to not be stretching anymore. The leaves are getting bigger. Thanks for the input guys. Found a hydro shop in the next town over so I'm gonna go down there this week and pick up a good light. 400w hps should be enough for the limited space I have right? The nutes did not show up today, hopefully tomorrow though. Heres a few pics. Sorry for the bad quality they are from my blackberry.

Just a note these plants were only put under light on Feb 9th.

Another thing is if you are going to the hydro store pick up some grow big by fox farm you should also be looking into soil for trans I also reccomend getting fox farm ocean forest.

Oh and lookin nice, if you keep the light within 1 1/2 inches your shites gonna blow up real quick.

Oh and like wink said, an hid is not a really good idea unless you have a cool tube or an air cooled reflector.

Wink - I was thinking that the heat would be a problem with that hps bulb, as I am getting some pretty high temps with the fluorescents already (I have to keep the door open while the lights are on right now until I get an exhaust fan installed). I'm gonna look a little tonight at some cfl setups, should i buy a cfl kit or just go to lowes and mix and match some stuff together?

Pennywise - I have some FF trio nutes on the way already. I believe grow big is included along with some flowering and budding nutes. I have heard mixed reviews on the ocean forest soil but I will see if they have it when I get there. I know for sure they have black gold which I have heard good things about.

Thanks alot guys for sticking around with be during this so far. All the help is greatly appreciated. Heres some pics from today.

No plant pics today. But I did buy two 65 watt cfls to go in the cabinet. Its running alot cooler now and the light difference is amazing. Not to mention how much space got freed up. I am going to have to get a smaller fan now but for the next couple days I should be ok.

Here's a before and after to show the difference in lighting.

Make sure to get fox farm ocean forest and you could mix it with 40% perlite for better airation. You can also give your babies fox farm grow big. Just wanted to let you know.

Have you decided what size pot your going to trans in?

not sure about what size pot...any suggestions? I don't have very much room in there. I'm also getting ready to only have 3 plants inside the cabinet, so I was thinking maybe a gallon pot. Should I feed the grow big a few days after the ocean forest transplant. I've heard of alot of people getting nute burn from ocean forest.

I have never had any probs with ffof soil, it is all organic. For the grow big it is nothing but bat gauno and worm castings brewed into a tea. here is the link for reccomended doses.http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/soilfeed.pdf always start with 1/4 and work your way up.

I would also reccomend 1 gal since you have limited space, but make sure you always prune and keep them tidy.

Picked up 4 1 gallon pots today, some ocean forest soil, and some perlite. Have a 60/40 mix going on and transplanted the 4 plants. I was so nervous at work today because I thought they were going to die after the transplant but all is good. I also picked up some mylar for the walls and took down that ghetto tin foil. I'll post some pics up tommorrow after the girls have bounced back from the trans. Thanks for all your help so far guys.

Ok here's and update.

I wanted to wait until the girls (hopefully) woke up from the shock I put them in yesterday from the transplant. I fed them for the first time tongiht. 1/4 strength Fox Farm Grow Big. Added two 4 inch fans to move some air around so the stems get thicker. Also added two 26 watt cfls. Heres some pics.
