you'll likely have to isolate a sterile culture FROM your syringe because ebay vendors arent always an actual lab. but, it is access to the spores. you can read up on isolating close-to-sterile mycelium by google searches. i would suggest agar, popcorn, cardboard, or WBS and then make transfers as best as you can until you get a good looking culture. then just clone from your culture mother to make dozens of nice clean BRF cakes or bulk sub. but keep a mother on hand!!

I also like using isolates, but the extra time it takes isn't always justified for small batches.
BY doing a spore inoculation you get to see the natural cycle in action, which is good for a beginner grower.
You can see the different spores set up shop and try to outcompete each other.
