Any specifics with hydroton clay pellets?

I was debating on putting my 3x3 rockwool cubes in 5 gallon buckets of water with hydroton clay pellets. is there anything i should know about the hydroton before I do this? i'm new as is, and i barely know anything about rockwool let alone the clay pellets. i don't have my rockwool on a drip system or anything. i just water it with my nutes once or twice a day. its under a 400watt metal halide bulb and its on 24 hours.

If you are watering b hand then i would not go with hydro clay pellets,for the reason that the roots will dry out.Far better to do a 50/50 mix of clay pellets and coco.Get hold of a auto pot set up there cheap has chips and easy to use with very little work needed to get the max from your grows.
