I know its not ideal to run a single end bulb lower than its rating but what about a double end bulb that isnt being cooled? Im running the sun system air cooled double ended fixture which isolates the bulb and reflector from the part that is cooled and I imagine the bulb will still get plenty hot enough but i could be very wrong. Do they still get up to temp and run properly? I want to run my light at 1000w most of the summer but the really hot days/weeks I might have to dim it to 825w or 750w. My little summer experimental grow ended up filling out my entire 5x5 (oops) so I'm looking for options.
