thanks for everyones input so far, see that is what im concerned about, I vape daily and use the Silver Surfer (best wand vaporizer imo) or a classic volcano, so I have been spoiled with the best of whip and bag vapes, so I fear that pax will be a meh experience, I also have the Magic Flight Launch Box and well I have not used for like a year because I have way superior vaporization choices.yeah the pax are for buds only its good man like he said ups and downs ive had mine for almost a year and i mean i can take it anywhere in the movies.. waiting in line and no one can tell what it is... just one thing if your a real heavy smoker i dont feel the vapor is as strong as like a jay or bowl but if you only smoke every so often the pax is awesome... and like i said you can take it anywhere and no one can tell what you have cant even see the smoke when you exhaling
S&B portable, are you talking about the plenty?I have a Pax, an AtmosRX, and a (now broken) Atmos Nail and The Bullet attachment that came free with the nail and works on the 510 battery. I also have a Volcano, recycler oil rig, etc.
The Pax is good for small ammounts of flower. But also for mixing ANY form of concentrates with flower. It is actually the only thing I have tried that actually lets you vape your oil instead of burning it, with the caveat that you have to mix it with bud, and it can get pretty dirty inside doing this but its super easy to clean with a pipe cleaner and some iso. Also as pointed out the screens don't last all that long, esp if you use the high setting.
It is also well built and has an interesting and stealthy design and functionality. Also makes a great hand-warmer, lol.
As for every pen I've tried, they suck for concentrates be it shatter, budder, "wax", and especially bubble or sift hash. They work, don't get me wrong, and the best I've tried is the Rx. But they just burn the concentrates and and get gross and have to be cleaned constantly, and can be difficult to clean and the atomizers are easy to break, hence my broken Nail.
PS> I might be interested in selling some of this stuff, its all within 2 months old, just not sure I'd wanna part with the Pax yet, hehe.
PPS> S&B(Volcano) has a portable vape too but I haven't checked it out yet. I've also been meaning to try the "liquid" chamber on my Volcano Digit.
Yea, I went and looked it up after I posted, lol. I meant the plenty and I guess its more "hand held" than portable as you gotta plug it in, also apparently no good for concentrates only.S&B portable, are you talking about the plenty?
Also I have a stadard ecig with 510 threading, I would love to buy a catridge just for hash, which did you recommend?
You can refill openvape carts, but I do not have a CO2 extractor to make great oil. I have a BHO rig, but blech, I'd rather have bubble hash.I am also looking at the Pax by Ploom to replace my pen vape that is only good for a few tokes and then needs a refill. I tried an O-Pen and really liked it, it uses oil carts and is an awesome little device. But as a grower with excellent buds I would be crazy to shift to a device that requires me to go out and buy oil carts. So yes, the Pax looks like the best thing out there for portable herb vaping. But if you are looking for stealth and ease, the O-Pen is probably the best thing out there for oil.
I've read the Cera is much improved. And you can order it with or without the batteries, they are standard rechargeable and don't have to be soldered to be changed out so you can just get your own, etc.Speaking from prior use Thermovape was not my favorite......I have used the pax since and believe it produces better hits then the original thermovape, cera may be improved, but if using same batteries-its battery life sucked!
Also do you know anything about making own glycerin tincture for ecig use in standard 510 atty?
I've found I don't like the taste of CO2 oil. Or smoking from most vape pens. The only liquid cart I've tried was an Optimums(works on the 510 btw) but it was not diluted with glycol or glycerin, it uses 2 wicks and tasted awful, lol.You can refill openvape carts, but I do not have a CO2 extractor to make great oil. I love the openvape, my dugout is getting dusty.
I grow and smoke weed at home and use the vape pen away from home. I don't mind paying for the carts.
It is just something added to my smoking schedule.
(Not trying to start a vape/combustion fight - I have a plug in vaporizer at home and never use it. Vaping weed just doesn't do it for me. Bong hits, ftw. My concentrates bowl and my Hakko are great, but it takes a lot of bubble hash for me to feel it.)
For sure thanks for your help! Like i said I had the original thermovape, so unless it is completely better it seemed like a big waste of my $. The battery only lasted like 8-12 hits becaUSE the ceramic heating element took alot of energy. And as such hit quality varied too. Since I made this post I had the pleasure of vaping on a pax-with certain draws you get nice hit. I have come to my senses and now understand that I will never hit a portable vape that produces the volume of my tabletop vaporizers (volcano, ssv) but the PAX is nice!I've read the Cera is much improved. I just wish I knew someone that had one so I could try it before dropping $250+ on it($500+ for the titanium)
And I'm sorry I don't know about making glycerin for atomizers. You can maybe ask in this thread if it would be safe to vape this recipe, I assume that it would be given the ingredients: https://www.rollitup.org/colorado-patients/644927-making-tincture-medshed-2013-recipe.html
Yea the PAX is perfect for portable bud vaping, probably the best. And works great for mixing with any form of concentrate with bud.For sure thanks for your help! I think CO2 oil tastes much better than BHO.On that same note I understand the diluted/thin liquid cart setup in that its easyer to vape but I think it kinda defeats the purpose of concentrates at that point. Unless your just wanting stealthy way to puff a low intensity vapor in public.
