Are these light systems legit?

I am sure the following reasons why it is cheaper than others you have researched into. 1) you are not buying the name 2) the ballast is probably a mangetic one and not a digital one 3) the quality of the reflective hood may suffer in its actual reflective property 4) could be construction from second rate parts 5) small warranty window. Me I have been tempted in purchasing lower grade lights but I never did because the quality of the lights I wanted to get were above par, the warranty was for years and the actual testimonies from my acquaintances matched the store clerks.

I wouldn't buy from them just because they are so deceitful in their auctions. For instance this one,

AIR COOLED GROW LIGHT 400 WATT HPS + MH 400W lights - eBay (item 360082730024 end time Aug-28-08 19:33:39 PDT)

LOOKS complete huh? Well it doesn't have a ballast! Then they put all their bullshit advertising at the bottom that just confuses old people and people not familier with scam artists. They look at the ad for "complete system" and think that's what they are getting.

Sure, they say you need a ballast at the very bottom but again, newbies to eBay can be confused by the deceptive advertising in the middle. And I would have zero problem with them if they just removed the ads.

Of course it's WAY overpriced for random generic stuff but they are free to do that.

So, I give that company two thumbs down and would instead suggest going to High Tech Garden Supply. I have two of their store brand 400W HPS lights and I'm loving them... except of course now I want 600W... ;)

High tech garden supply doesn't ship to Canada unfortunately. I'll have to find something else.
