How do they look? theyre in their 8th week flowering and i dont know if they are soon ready to cut. here are some pics of the plants and also the trichomes. the pics of the trichomes were taken with a digital camera through a microscope so the quality isnt great but you should be able to tell.

what strain are u growing? I'd wait another week or so...until like 70%-80% of the hairs become an orangeish color...

Your plants are ready to be harvested when the color of the trichomes are the color that gives you the high or buzz you like the most.

Milky trichomes = more of a head high.
Amber trichomes = more of a body buzz/couch-lock buzz.

Which to you prefer or do you want something in the middle? If you prefer one over the other than take them according to the trichome color that gives you more of what you want. If you want a combination then wait until there is a combination of some percentage of milky trichomes and some amber trichomes and again depending on which you prefer it to have more of, a head high or a body buzz, take them when most of the trichomes are the color that gives you what you want.

No one can tell you when your plants are ready to be harvested according to YOUR tastes and likes and dislikes in either a high or a buzz. That is something YOU have to decide.

Just out of curiosity what strain/hybrid are your plants?

Ok, while writing my last message you added that you believe they are California Kush. I have never heard of that particular strain so I cannot be of much help but in general Kush genetics, according to everything I have read, are indica or indica dominant plants so unless your cross has a high percentage of sativa in it, and if so I would be surprised it would still be called a Kush, I would have to say they should be finished or very close to being finished so just look at the trichomes daily and then take them when they are the color that will give you more of the type of high/buzz you like.

Of course you cannot turn an indica buzz into a sativa high just by harvesting when the trichomes are milky and you cannot take a sativa high and turn it into an indica buzz just by harvesting it when the trichomes are amber but you can of course somewhat fine tune what you get by making such choices. The majority of what you get will be based in the strain/hybrid’s genetics.

Kush (indica) does take a little longer than your sativa's, I would wait another week at least. Then harvest and have a serious Kush couch lock.
