what is the desired PH range for watering, soil plants?

also, what is the household item way for PH up/down. I know ones vinegar, and the other Epson salt? which does which? i always forget

also is there any other pantry items that'll ph up/down? i think all i have is morton salt. haha.

For soil you want to keep ph around 6.5 but it isn't crucial like in hydro. If your tap water isn't terribly alkaline, just use it as is. I never seem to have big problems that way. You might want to let it sit to get the chlorine out.

yeah i let the jug sit out open for 2 nights, i do have really good tap water, its ph itself, without sitting out is 7.5

was thinking ideal would be getting it down to 7, but i forgot what the book says to keep it at, so if anyone still can help me out with that, that'd be great.
