When is the best time to transplant Asparagus?
I have some in Raised Bed but was told I didn't want this.

How deep is your raised bed and what zone are you in?I was told because of the root system Raised Beds are not good but really I haven't seen a problem.
Depends where you live, Here in the northeast us we transplant as soon as the ground can be worked in the spring. they have massive roots an go deep. When is the best time to transplant Asparagus?

In zone 5, raised bed is 8 inches deep but plants can go deep as they want with no Bottom to the Box.How deep is your raised bed and what zone are you in?
Good ideaThanks thinking more on just leaving it. Might start a few somewhere else.
Got to plant Gooseberries.
Yep!.. I never harvested for the first 2 years. Then around Feb, I'd do a shallow till on the row. I made it 6 ft wide because that's how wide my tiller is. Chopping them up a little seemed to make them multiply.Good idea
It takes a few seasons to get good yields
Mine tend to spread on their own as long as I leave the surrounding area sparse on ground cover
It is pretty nice… I’ve lived on this 12 acres for 22 years, and there’s square footage I’ve never stepped on. I think that comes out to a little over 522,000 sq ft. About half of it is heavily wooded though.I wish I had the space for asparagus. They need too much room for the yield they produce for city dwellers like myself with limited space. I'm jealous of you country boys with acres of land that can just dig up another large plot whenever you want.
We had 20 acres sold it to a guy saying I was messing up his Deer Hunting building a House where I was.It is pretty nice… I’ve lived on this 12 acres for 22 years, and there’s square footage I’ve never stepped on. Yeah... I can understand that. When I went through my divorce in 2009, I was gone for 19 months going through it. I got back here, and was sitting with my dad by the pool, and I told him "Maybe I'll just sell the land and house,... I don't think I can wash the bitch off of this place"... He said "They're not making any more land, you better hang on to it"... glad I did.We had 20 acres sold it to a guy saying I was messing up his Deer Hunting building a House where I was.
