i have 2 outdoor plants that are Panama red autoflower which have been growing for over two months now and are over 6 feet tall and no buds, just keep growing. I grew this same strain last year and at a little over 3 feet and 8 weeks had buds growing. Is this indicative of a plant thats not going to produce anything or something that happens and I should wait it out?

Sometime they don't auto man. I just had 2 gorilla glue autos not auto. And have had others 2. Honestly about 3 out of the ten autoflowers I've grown so far haven't autoed without going into my flower tent with the photos

Just a gene no guarantee it will show up every time. Good breeders try to make sure they breed out that possibility but theirs always a chance

Sounds like it's not an autoflower. Seeds get mixed up!

One reason I grow Photoperiods so I can clone them and have more reliable results. AutoFlowers sometimes do not "auto flower" and require a reduced light schedule or even 12/12 lighting. I grew them for a year or so when they were hyped up and realized I was just paying more for electricity and having less consistency in my crops.
I would look into growing photoperiod feminized seeds from a reputable seed vendor like blimburn, north atlantic seed co, etc.. Clone the plants, send them to flower as fast as possible and whichever one performs best keep cloning it and grow it out big.
You can't clone autoflowers, you gotta pop seeds every time so the results are going to be super unpredictable just like you describe. New genetics will do the same thing, but once you have a clone it will grow just like the last plant every time and then you can actually dial in your setup.

Thanks for the info, these seeds were from theseedfair leftover from last year. everything else i planted this year was from royalqueenseeds with great results. Consider myself still a newbie as this is the 3rd season for me and the only time Ive experienced this and still alot I dont know

This happens to to 2/5 of my auto flower “purple haze” from greybeard, they’re out back in the porch getting sun and darkness they look like some bull crap bout to just give them the axe for real
