This started out as a hobby because we were bored. We figured we wouldn’t spend much, just playing around to see what we can grow. We started the seeds in jiffy pellets. I would say that we had many missteps in the beginning trying to figure out how the plants are supposed to grow, some issues with lights and humidity. Also, we didn’t turn the lights on right away when they broke ground and they really stretched. So much to the point that we replanted them in Solo cups with the Coco coir burying the stretched stem.
After they grew a bit I did LST and broke the main cola off one of the Northern Lights (NL1) I didn’t know the stem could be reattached, but she seemed to recover nicely. That didn’t scare me too much to stop but did make me a bit gentler when handling them. Also, I think the early issues stunted the other Northern Light (NL2).
So now we are at 55 days since planting the seed and we don’t know if the plants are in preflower or still in the veg stage. I posted some pictures and wondered if someone could give a look and tell me what you think of the plants.
I have looked on this site and you all give good information and I really appreciate that. Though I did sucked into a 67 page thread about lollipopping and defoliation.
And yes, we spent more than we thought but we’re not bored anymore

lights are on 18/6, have been since start. We are using veg but wasn't sure when to switch. can it be done right away or do we have to introduce it over time. I see that the fertilizers are close in percentages between the veg and bloom.
Thank you for all your help.

With mine when I switch to flower I give my bloom nutrients at half strength for the first 2-3 feeds then up it to its reg dose, they may be close in numerical value, but bloom will have chelated iron and other things need for flowering, I also use overdrive in the last 2 weeks...I dont do a flush i just taper down and my last couple feed are just molasses water

Thanks for all the info. One last question. You say molasses, can you give me more info on that please? What kind, how much?
Beautiful plant and bud. Someday (and probably not this first grow) I hope to have ones like that too.

The molasses has to be unsulfered, i use Crosby brand and mix about a table spoon per 3l of water, it will help with resin production but its main use is to feed the bacteria in the soil, I don't use coco, I use promix bx and it has mychorhaze (mind the spelling on that) its a beneficial fungus that helps root development so im not sure if they add that to coco, but a healthy root system will produce a better plant, honey also works but doesn't have the same minerals as molasses, dont worry about questions..we all started in the same spot as you, if you have IG you can follow me ...creekgrower

Thank you so much. I'll have to look into that with coco coir. I'm sure there will be more questions but at least we're learning something.
