autoflowering season?

stupid question, but as autoflowering plants do not grow and flower by the hours of light, does this mean they can be grown out doors out of season i.e. in february (risking a late frost but ?) would it still grow and flower?

From what I understand, autoflowers grow best with at least 18 hours of light per day. I think they're typically for indoor growing, but I could be wrong.

I believe the answer lies in the question. Since autos flower by age, the plant wouldn't know the difference between June or February (except for a little bit of a temperature change).

The more light the better so for outdoors do it from may-july and you will have a nice harvest per plant. I had a great harvest this year.
