Autos in hydro system?

My 1st grow didnt turn out so well so i was thinking about going with autos this time around. but someone told me that autos and hydroponics dont really mix well.. can someone shed some light on this cant really find any good info. If any one has any prior experience growing autos inhydro or knows of a strain that flourishes in a hydro system feel free to comment!

Hydro is made for autos. Look at the typical hydro set-up - most have just 4 inches or so for
the root system. That calls for small, fast growing strains. Autos fit the bill perfectly.

My buddy has a hydro set-up that contains 4 troughs. They are 4-feet long, about 6 inches wide
and he puts 4 autos in each of the troughs. He grows 16 plants in the same space I use to finish 8-10.
He only grows autos and his is strictly, shall I say, a commercial grow. With all the years he has been
doing this I have to think that growing autos in hydro has to be the most efficient way to harvest product.

I started with hydro in '06 and screwed up the first 2 attempts. I switched to dirt and haven't looked back.

yea i was thinking about switching to dirt.. ill probably just try one more time with hydro if im not satisfied with the results im def switching over to dirt. Do u know what strains was he running with? i was leaning towards the auto ultra lemon haze and afghan kush ryder..

I can recommend the AKR myself. Got 1 bean as a freebie and went and bought enough for a full grow.
If you do go with dirt for autos you want to use small pots and transplant twice. I put new seedlings into a solo cup
until the stem is strong enough to TP again into 4 or 6-inch pots. Then leave them there for 10-14 days. They
won't spend all their time growing a wastefully large rootball. And they will be bushier than with just 1 or 2 TP's.

i was going to get 3 lemon haze seeds and 1 akr think i should switch it around and buy 3 akr and 1 lh ? im going for quantity over quality.. around how much did u yield from the akr?
