Hi so I'm new to the whole deal, never grew any type of plant at all and here I am with 6 seedlings in a dwc system.I was just wanting to know how well anyone here thought my seedlings look at about a week in from transplant from paper towel to rockwool, I just have regular tap water in the res that was Ph to around 5.8 on all buckets(5 gal). It being my first time also I was trying to clean this foam build up off one of my netpots (res temps was 79F at one point ) and while rinsing the bottom of it under my faucet it fell directly under the stream drowning the cube in the water . The ph that comes out my tap is like 9.80 so my cube was drenched,I tried to get most the water out and put it back and of course little to no growth on it until one day I decided to take the cube out and split it and try to give it a easier path to root downward and pulled the netpot up away further to the light to hopefully dry up the cube a bit. After a few days it seems like it's slowly developing, before I helped it the taproot was looking yellow and the whole seedling looked to be offset at an angle and now it's more oriented upright with its cotyledon slowly turning yellow to green again? And as my final question, I hear don't introduce any nutetrients till 2nd set of true leaves have formed, one of my plants has a 2nd set coming in out of all and I want to try to keep the res change schedule as even as possible as to not have staggered res changes for each plant, is there a better/easier way to manage this? The two that are stunted in growth have been raised a bit by a lid

Supplies:
GH nutrient trio
Calimagic
Hydrogaurd
GH ph up/down
Vivosun tds/ec/ph pen kit
Mars Hydro TS 1000(2x)
6 5 gal buckets(Homer)
Active Aqua 25LPM(400GPH) Air pump
6 airstones
GE outlet time dial controller

Thank you.

I would just watch them closely and do not keep over saturating the Rockwool, Rockwool holds lots of moisture, if you have extra rockwool cubes on hand I would compare the dry cube weight to your seedlings weight for a good comparison and a rough guide of when you should add more water. Also, if roots are not protruding from the bottom of the cubes I personally wouldn't place them in the dwc system just yet. Just my thoughts.

To answer your questions, your seedlings look fine. Hold the feeding as you already believe you should. Less is more in this case.

Thank you for the reply, it does appear that one of my seedlings cotyledon is turning slightly yellow(its the over saturated one).I got a rw cube change cause it was mangled and soaked, the taproot was super tiny (not emerged yet) compared to the others that was hanging out the netpots, does it have a chance to grow down still? It's curved up and looking at the taproot it's abit yellow but I see it's true leaves though. And another seedling is slowly turning its tips of its cotyledon to yellow as well, I'll provide updated photos.Im about a week and a half after germinating i got about 4 more days before 3rd week starts, should I start feeding on beginning of week 3 based off how they look currently? it's a first grow so doing multiple different strains is probably too much for a novice but I'll give it a shot, but yes certain seedling are touching water with roots and some haven't emerged yet and I don't know if feeding all at once per week at different growth stages is ok or should I go by what each plant needs based off growth stage that week.

Roots always search down and out. Your yellowing cotyledon looks to me that it is your plant showing you that it’s using its reserved nutrients and it’s still growing. pull the seedlings in the last two pictures out of the system top feed until they have roots showing on the bottom of the Rockwool, then you could sit them back in. As for those that have a root system showing out the bottom of the Rockwool and netpots, run your system per usual but ensure that the bottom of those Rockwool cubes are not sitting directly in water but getting splashed by the popping bubbles from your air stones some say to water from the top until roots are well established. As for feeding I personally would begin at 1/4 strength of what ever the manufacturer recommends If you’re going to start. Because you chose different strains they may eventually require their own feeding regiment, the deciding factor will be noticeable signs of deficiencies. I attatched a handy meter chart to this message that I grabbed from another thread.
Also you don’t want that stretching your getting on those bigger seedlings. cover them with the clay up to the rim So you can secure that stock better. If you’re at max capacity then bring that light down a little more, or crank the power up a little more.

Thank you for the info, the last two pics are of the same seedling btw I did replace the rw cube and is now sitting in a make shift dome out of its bucket with a heat mat under on med I'll be checking on that from time to time,as for the first pic the strain is my thai, (multi auto pack from ethos genetics) and is starting to yellow at the tips of its cotyledon and after today is now drooping downward, I heard plants will do this when lights are off and they tend to "pray" to the light when they are on so it might just be that? I'll provide some pictures of its root system as well

Bad things about autos is you gotta be careful because if you spend most your time trying to get it right by the time you get it right they’re already in flower when they could’ve spent their time getting vegetative growth

Right I definitely dont want to spend too much time I wanna see these girls take off already, should I add 1/4 nutes in a few days? Or doing now would potentially nute burn some? I feel like they'll take off once food is introduced.

my 2 cents if your in hydro your plant needs fertilizer since the beginning the amount of fertilizer depends on the size of the plant,

when you have cuttings or seedlings i would feed it around 200ppm's of base fertilizer, like i would already be feeding your plant base fertilizer at around 200ppm's.......

when the plant grows 3 to 4 sets of true leaves bump it up to 400ppm's of base fertilizer,

when the plant grows 6 to 7 sets of true leaves bump it up to 600ppm's of base. after the plant becomes a mature plant i would bump it up to 800ppm's of base and keep it there. i never go higher than 800ppm's of base :)

i grow in coco coir and feeding the plants ever since they are seedlings, that is the way i roll, i dont have any problems with nutrient burn and my plants grow super healthy when i feed them since the beginning of theyre lives.

EDIT: oh crap this is for a auto not a photoperiod plant lol so take my advice with caution because i am giving advice for photoperiod plants.

I appreciate it it, I have some photos I'll be doing eventually so always helpful, I'm gonna start 1/4 nutes and see how well things go, my tap water comes to like 170-200 ish ppm by default and I think the EC is like 0464.

Exactly 2 weeks since transplant to cubes from today, updated photos of growth.
Nutrients added 1.2 ml for each nutrient per bucket, the seedling outside its bucket I'm hoping will root through but still no development from what i can see (I have it in a humidity dome), my lights are at 12 inches from their canopy at 50% now, they was at 18 inches before at around 25%, I also added 2ml of hydrogaurd in each bucket, also this feeding I didn't measure the gallons but just kinda eyeballed them, but next feed I will for sure measure out 4 gal next time.

How they looking now?
I'd say not too bad looking. A few elongated sets of leaves I noticed, at least the 3 finger leaves, idk what that could be caused by except humidity as It stays around 30s to 40s on RH,I've just been Watching them and adding domes when I see the RH drop too low and sit around 50s-60s for like an hour(hopefully i can get a humidifier here soon during veg or else its towel hanging), I notice on the dulce it has its first set of leaves turning lime green, would I need to start adding Cal Mag? I have a bottle of it but haven't added it to the nutrients schedule yet. Also the little runt of the rest isn't looking good I think it's dead or dying pretty fast here lately, I've been keeping its cube moist as well.
