It's been a long time, and I feel like another grow journal!
Backstory:
I used DWC a while back, but quickly moved into aeroponics because, quite frankly, I still haven't figured out an easy way to change 5gal bucket reservoirs; plus, aero offers other advantages, and made more sense for a SoG. Anyway, at the start of this last cycle I made the mistake of being nice to some friends who wanted to try growing; I wasn't using one of my lights, they asked to "rent" the space, and I could have used the cash. Long story short, over the course of less than two weeks they brought in mites, cobweb mold, root rot, and fungus gnats; I did a pretty good job of handling things, but then my A/C went out and everything was fucked.
Oh, and my pH probe went out some time during all of that as well.
I saved everything I could by making clones, but only managed to save 23 of the original 70; I hadn't budgeted for an extra month of bullshit, so I was unable to replace the missing clones. After that shit storm, without being able to leave the room lifeless for a month, and with the fragility of aeroponics, I decided to pull out the buckets!
I put my three sativas (2x Blue Dream/1x Green Crack) in their own buckets, and started vegging them a bit before the MK Ultra clones were ready, which went four to a bucket; after a few weeks I was ready to flip the lights, went in for my evening check, and the replacement A/C had broken (Whynter, never again). I figured out a replacement the same night, used a window fan for extraction, and set up pedestal fans between the A/C in another room and this one.
Unfortunately, while I knew the heat would cause them to transpire more quickly, and thus need more water, it'd been a long time since I'd had plants this big with reservoirs this small; next day evening check, the buckets are nearly dry, most with too little water to even cover their airstones, and multiple plants have wilted, hard. I topped them off, hit them with a very mild foliar every few hours, and waited up for the A/C to arrive.
I received the new A/C, installed it, changed their reservoirs, hit them with another foliar, and things seem to be back on track; so, I decided to start this grow journal!
Current:
Everything is looking good, there are a few scars left from the above journey, but I'm fairly certain I'll be hitting flower tomorrow; I need to check the root situation later tonight, and probably use a B1 foliar as that dry out period definitely caused some damage; however, I still think things are far better than should be expected at this point, TBH.
Setup:
Four five gallon DWC systems on either side of a 4x8 tent, making a total of eight.
Two 420 watt induction lights from Inda-Gro (definitely not hype).
Orbital, wall-mount fan from CAP (does the work of two fans, takes the space of one, and is easily mounted in a tent with a couple of 1/2" electrical tie down thingies).
4x MK Ultra in each of five buckets, with two Blue Dream and one Green Crack in their own.
450CFM fan paired with 550CFM filter (mounted in/on an external filter box).
13,000 BTU A/C + dehumidifier (SoCal gets VERY hot).
Nutrients:
2.5Gal R/O
10ml Pro-TeKt
20ml FloraMicro
40ml FloraBloom
5ml Floralicious Plus (twice the recommended dose, but my girls seem to love it; I'm probably witching to Seaplex and FlavorFul come flower, I just want to use this up, but we'll see)
1.2ml Monster Bloom (roughly half strength, and pre-bloom due to deficiency in one plant; they all like it though)
2 cups AACT (because you should be using it too)
AACT:
1Gal R/O
3ml Earth Compound (better than EWC, far less is needed, eliminating the need for filtering/bagging, which is clutch since I usually use a vortex brewer)
3ml Earth Tonic (very expensive, but but a little goes a long way, and I feel it makes a difference in the outcome; probably not necessary)
3ml MycoGrow Soluble
6ml Seaplex (every time I see an AACT recipe which omits seaweed, I punch a baby; get some and save a baby's life)
12ml Molasses
Brew for 24-36 hours @ 25lpm.
Foliar:
This is pretty variable, but generally ThriveAlive Red B-1, Seaplex, Pro-TeKt, FlavorFul, and whatever nutrients the plants look like they can use; if there's no specific need, a touch of the entire Flora series.
Temps tend to stay around 75°F, humidity at 50% (dehumidifier is set to 60 until flower, then will be dropped to 50).

I have no idea why pictures reorient when I upload them to RIU, but I'm going to figure that out later; this side holds 16 of the MK Ultra plants.

Again, orientation later; the short single plant in the front is Green Crack, it's the one which needed a LOT of phosphorous; to it's left (or right since the image is upside-down) are four smaller MK Ultra plants; and, in the back are the two Blue Dreams, which I've topped. Disregard the trellis, I'm not using it, and will likely remove it tomorrow.
I do have a mother/veg tent (empty), and I'm considering moving the Green Crack and smaller MK Ultra plants in there for another week, since the rest are going into flower; however, I'm worried that in that time they'll be significantly outpaced by the rest due to stretch, and so while they'll be a bit bigger, they'll actually be smaller in comparison, and so have less access to light; also, I want to use that tent for a few clones I took, so I have mothers in the future.
Anyway, here we go!
