Banana Trees

These trees have their own forum like RIU.

I'm germing 5 dwarf cavendish bananas right now, & I ordered a dwarf red jamaican cutting. These two types get between 3' & 6' indoors and bear delicious fruit. Probably hard to do indoor but I'll try.

There's bananas that are blue/silver and taste like apples

Here's some links:

Most are supposed to fruit in their second year. I'm just curious if anyone's banana fruits in a pot, or indoors without HPS or other lighting, like a house plant.

I think it'd be the shit to have a 6 foot banana tree in the L/R with 30-40lbs of fruit ripening...

Hey, can I put a CFL over this bad boy? I have some extra laying around but I don't have a timer. Do you think 24hr light would hurt it?

i never grew one inside or in a pot mine are in the ground. i think a cfl would work, 24hr light would probably just make it grow fast.
