I think what you're noticing is that Attitude is out of stock on all of Barney's regular seeds.

On the other hand, Attitude seems to be almost fully stocked on their feminized seed offerings:

For whatever reason Barney's seems to have made the decision to offer only feminized seeds. Other seed banks, like Greenhouse, also seem to be moving in that direction. IMHO that's not a good trend.

Putting aside the fem vs regular seed debate (because I think there are arguments to be given that justify the use of either based on a person's unique situation) one possible motivation for a seed vendor to move to fem seeds is that it protects their "proprietary" genetics a little bit more than regular seeds, well, at least that's a theory of mine ...

You are correct. Nobody wants to breed with Fem seeds because there is inherit instability once you have an offspring with 3 Grandmas. Their stock is so vigorous I can see someone using them to breed their own strain. I agree, I think they are doing away with regular seeds to cut back on the competition coming in the seed industry over the next 5 years. A global boom with a lot of people who would be considered quality breeders today being considered scrub wannabes tomorrow.

I grew out a little over 65 fem seed in the past year. Stuff dispensary's wanted. Not one hermy yet, always gets amazing results. I really dont see were people are getting this info that feminized seeds are extremely unstable?? Can someone hook me up with a link? i wanna jump on the hate train hehe. With that being said im surrently running 5 tga strains and 5 cali connect all regular so im not bias against regular seeds :) Just curious were all the negetive info is coming from. Maybe its the grower not the seed. Grower get over confident thats its a female anyways so he doesn't take care of it as well. Dunno....

Well ... so far no one said anything bad about femenized seeds for growing in this thread. What's been said is that they're inferior to reg seeds for the purpose of breeding.

THere are good femenized seeds and there are a lot of BAD Femenized seeds. But from most breeders they don't screw up and sell bad stuff because they would lose all business. My only plant in flower right now is a Blueberry Gum by G13 Labs and it IS femenized and I couldn't be happier with it. There is nothing wrong with femenized plants but you don't want to breed with it. However I myself am breaking my own rule as my only female from 6 seeds and 6 strains was the one femenized one, so I like to keep my genetics just in case so I pollenated it with a TgA subcool Void male because the void smelled of Grape Taffy and the Blueberry Gum stem smells of bubblegum. Hoping for grape hubbabubba like I remember as a kid. Of course these seeds are just for me and nobody else so if it hermies I will kill it. I tried making fem with hermie before and the seed i grew was a 50/50 hermie so i'll never make fem seeds for myself again.

I have high hopes for the offspring, but it is not a good thing to breed with Femenized seeds. Any breeder who does that is not a real breeder. I am not a real breeder, and wouldn't buy the seeds I made myself from me in a million years. But I love to study genetics and this is the best way to see it hands on.

GHS femenized seeds suck IMHO but lots of people tell me that my taste sucks to so take whatever anyone (including myself) says on the interwebs with a grain of salt.

I have grown out Barneys Fems, LSD,Red Dragon, and Red diesel, none hermied.
I have never had a Barneys Farm hermie either. Barneys Farm does do Fems right for me with LSD and Red Dragon. I agree. I believe that Barneys Farm makes plants that grow amazingly and vigorous, but the highs just were not my favorite. I would trust Barneys Farm Fems to growing, but I don't know if breeding fems is ever safe.

I love BF seeds and haven't seen a hermie yet.
I do produce my own fem seeds but I keep the strain pure and don't cross breed as there is no way to know which genes are dominant and whether or not recessives will raise their heads, turning a clone male for pollen and using it to pollinate flowering clones works fine for me.
I certainly don't breed plants, just reproducing seeds from stable strains.
