Bathroom exhaust fan for closet grow?

A Bathroom exhaust fan is only good enough for a 250W closet system. For your 600w system i would go with SirGreenThumb's recommendation, a good 6" inline fan will eliminate any heat problem and all that ventilation will give your plant a lot of fresh co2
 
That fan works well in a tent setup for exhausting air being pulled through a carbon filter/cool tube and ducting into an attic or to the outside. That about it.
 
I'm using two of these https://panasonic.ca/english/ventilationfans/whisperceiling.asp at the moment for my closet, which is slightly larger than yours. I picked the Panosonic because it is super quiet and they are not "expensive as hell." Honestly, I can hear my little Chinook fan I have for circulation over the Panosonics. The inline fans are loud as shit, which is why I went with the bathroom fan as my grow space is in my closet off my bedroom so it's gotta be quiet.

I would get two of them, though, as you'll still be underpowered, cfm-wise, compared to most inlines, but they do move the air out at a workable rate, and do keep the heat down enough to a good grow in, but again, I'd get two for your space.

Not quite. Considering having a carbon filter attached, and I'm assuming you would want the best air replacement that you can get in order to keep your plants healthy and a good temp so growth doesn't slow down. In the end, it's up to you. And it's doesn't get very loud as long as you don't have it sitting on a hard surface that will echo.
 
Best setup I ever saw ( venting from a closet to the attic anyway ) was an inline fan suspended from the rafters using bungee cords....the cords absorbed any and ALL shock and sound from the inline. Originally the dude had flexible dryer venting as an exhaust which caused some noise. As soon as he switched to rigid dryer venting, noise gone. I swear, you could stand in that room and could not hear even the slightest whisper of air moving through the ducting. Total stealth, I was amazed.

So it was just an inline suspended in air, pushing air through the ducting straight into the attic?

Another question sorry, but what if I had my HPS air cooled? would this fan then move enough air for only one to be used in this sized closet.

If you have an air cooled hood and it is a good temp within your grow room, an isolating fan will move air around pretty well. Assuming the hot air is being vented outside of grow area.
